Austin-based IT management software provider SolarWinds, announced the acquisition of Pingdom, the Swedish startup who develops website monitoring and performance management tools. The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
Pingdom’s monitoring tech helps the website owners or operations teams to monitor the site’s performance and know almost instantly about the performance issues in their websites , DNS or e-mail servers. Seven-year old company claims more than 500,000 clients from around the world as of today.
After the acquisition of Pingdom, the united teams will work on adding new features to the system, like introducing more features about monitoring the slow times too. “Slow is the new down” asserts SolarWinds in the official press release, “If an app is slow, the user experience quickly becomes unacceptable, the business’ productivity comes to a screeching halt, and revenue can be lost. Average user’s expectation is that websites, mobile apps and SaaS-based applications will perform within 3-5 seconds, and a failure to meet this “requirement” risks abandonment.”
Pingdom will remain as a separate company committed to its brand and product offering.
