Estonian startup Pipedrive, which offers CRM software for managing sales, has announced that they have obtained $9 million in a Series A round from Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from Paua Ventures and current investors Rembrandt Venture Partners and AngelPad, where the startup incubated in 2012. Pipedrive also counts London-based TMT Investments and Storm Ventures as investors. To date, the company reports that it has raised $13.4 million in external backing.
This is not the only significant recent news out of Pipedrive, as the company announced in March that they were bringing in Steve Oriola as CEO. Prior to taking the reins at Pipedrive, Oriola spent 10 years as V.P. of business development, V.P. of product, and general manager at online email-marketing firm Constant Contact and then, more recently, CEO at ad-tech company Crossboard Mobile. To make room for Oriola, co-founder and former CEO Timo Rein moved over to president of the company.
Since it launched back in 2010, Pipedrive has grown to 78 employees and crossed the Atlantic, currently maintaining offices in Tallinn and Menlo Park, California. At the moment, the startup counts 10,000 SMBs as paying customers.
