Ztory, a Swedish subscription service for digital publications, has announced that they have obtained an undisclosed amount of funding from Wellington Partners and Swedish fund D-Ax, according to a press release from the company.
The startup, which launched in 2013, will use the funding to “strengthen its position” within the international digital-magazine market. At the moment, the company maintains offices in Stockholm, Barcelona, and Karlstad, Sweden.
Ztory offers users access to more than 500 titles and 7,000 publications for a flat fee of 99 SEK (approximately $13.85 at the moment) per month.
The company has launched apps for Android and iOS, which have both been downloaded tens of thousands of times. Ztory maintains versions of their website in Swedish, Spanish, and Catalan, to offer insight into the markets that they are current serving. Most of the magazines to which they offer access are in the local language (Swedish, Spanish, or Catalan), but they do offer their readers the occasional title in English.
