Peak Games Grows in the Middle East and Acquires Kammelna

We have been writing both investment and acquisition news about Peak Games from the day it started, and the company lastly bought a Saudi Arabia gaming company. The social gaming company, Kammelna, has 4 million active users with Baloot, a local card game.

With this acquisition, Peak Games grew stronger in MENA, while the figure Peak Games paid for Kammelna has not been officially disclosed. Meanwhile Wamda, one of the major news sources in MENA, said Peak Games has offered 10 million dollars for Kammelna, but it was based on hearsay information.

When considering the total amount of investment Peak Games has received so far, the income it can make within time, and Kammelna’s assets, we can say that 10 million dollars is a high valuation.

Peak Games CSO Rina Onur says Peak Games is the gaming company with 4th largest number of users, following Zynga, EA and Wooga, while he does not comment about the amount Kammelna received. Onur adds the company with 150 employees, is continuously adding new names to its team, parallel with its fast growth, and there are new job opportunities at the company.

Kammelna’s multiplayer Baloot is the equivalent of Peak Games most popular games Okey in the Middle East. Peak Games will continue to make use of Kammelna in order to develop games for the region.

AppData data reveal that Peak Games has more than 20 million active users per month, with the games it developed and ones it publishes, and it has offices in İstanbul, Ankara, Amman, Barcelona, Berlin and San Francisco. Kammelna will become Peak Games’s studio in Saudi Arabia Amman and founder Essam Alzamel will be head of the office.

Peak Games had bought two local gaming companies, Umaykut and Erlikhan, in the past months and added new games to its portfolio.

Peak Games is only 14 months old but has caught a fast growth. The company is now making use of unused opportunity in MENA. The company has extended its game called Bizim Çiftlik to Middle East, reaching 3 million active users a day. This stat makes the game the largest 2nd farm game in the world.

The company is aiming for social hardcore games, instead of casual games, as we have learned, and it is planning to publish two social hardcore games before the end of the year. Peak Games had become popular as a game publisher when it was started, and it seems it will also be successful in this new field with the games it will develop.
