English startup Zipjet, an on-demand laundry and dry-cleaning service backed by Rocket Internet, has unveiled three new bespoke packages.
The packages, titled “Express”, “Plus”, and “Lite”, differ in terms of turnaround time, time-slot, minimum order, and service fee. Those choosing the express option can pay 14.99 pounds (10 pound minimum-order) to access a 30-minute time-slot and have same-day service (morning pickup). The service fee decreases to 2.49 pounds for “Express” customers and nothing for “Lite” customers, but requires a 15 pound minimum-order and offers a longer turnaround-time. Essentially, they have unveiled a rapid-turnaround service, for those in a pinch, as well as options for those who have a bit more time and need flexibility.
Zipjet says that their service relies on an IT back end that includes dynamic availability calculation, demand prediction, and algorithmic dispatching, in order to ensure that everything runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
Zipjet, which launched in London in November 2014 and in Berlin in January 2015, currently claims 50 full-time employees. While they have not revealed their funding situation, stating only that they are a Rocket Internet company, they do report 20,000 users.
