Book2Meet, a Belgian startup which launched in October 2014, has moved towards becoming a pan-European booking platform for meeting rooms across Western Europe.
In order to get a feel for the platform, I did a sample search (“Paris”, in this case) and found that you receive listings that can be filtered down by capacity, price, layout of the room, date, time, or other features. Clicking on a particular location on the map reveals all meeting rooms available at that spot (whether it is a hotel or other building), but indicates which ones meet your requirements and which do not. And then each listing indicates the size of the room, capacity, layout availabilty, and various features.
All told, there are 32,000 listings from a group of countries that includes Belgium, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Ireland, and Switzerland that can be viewed through the platform. Prices vary widely, but rooms in Paris ranged from 7.5 to 275 Euro per hour for the period that I checked. Like other marketplaces, Book2Meet takes a commission on each room that is booked, but charges only the group renting out the room.
The Belgium company claims some pretty solid financial backing, picking up 3 million Euro from Worldstone Ventures last October and then following that up with another 2 million Euro from the same investor, the latter figure intended for fueling the startup’s expansion in Europe, to continue with the technical and commercial development of their platform, and to allow for building out their team. In terms of development, Book2Meet says that the “user experience” is due to be improved over the coming months.
