Shopbox allows small businesses to monitor their whole operation within a single app

shopboxDanish startup Shopbox has tossed its business-management app that allows stores and small businesses to monitor and manage basically all of their operations with just a few clicks. It’s available for iOS at the moment, while Android version is expected to drop later this month.

It is one thing to generally track sales and expenses, but Shopbox goes in-depth, allowing businesses to monitor the success of particular products or check on the performance of various employees. The app also offers the option of setting up daily, weekly, or monthly sales reports, which can then be emailed over to your accountant. One of the more appealing aspects of the service is the inexpensive cost. The platform costs 59 Euro per month to use, but smaller businesses (up to 5,000 Euro in monthly revenue) can access a “starter” package for just 9 Euro per month.

Some businesses can spring up in just a few months, while others can take years to get off the ground. In the case of Shopbox, it is 3 years, to be exact. They realized that at the time that they wanted to create a modern, mobile point-of-sale (POS) solution for businesses and hired a small team of developers to do just that. However, as founder Christian Zigler notes in a post on Medium, they soon learned that it was not wanted. They were not discouraged, however, and continued to develop the service, expanding it to allow businesses to control all of their operations, be it to register payments, allow them to offer promotions, monitor their inventory, or just about anything else. Now, after countless hours of development and preparation, they are finally off and running.

As the business has just launched, they have not yet revealed their total number of users. The startup did obtain an undisclosed amount of funding from private investors as they pivoted towards their current platform.
