A ban on Twitter, which was introduced in the afternoon today via Turkish ISPs, is being lifted gradually, state run Anadolu Agency reports. Bülent Kent, General Secretary of Internet Service Providers Union said in a written statement that the access to Twitter is being restored following the removal of the ‘illegal’ content that has led to the ban imposed on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter simultaneously.
The links to the content subject to blocking are being removed by Twitter. The below screen is shown when the link is requested.
Following a Turkish court’s decision, Facebook has been the first social network to respond positively to the content removal request. Access to YouTube remains blocked.
