Italian activity-curation startup Musement reels in €5M

musement-travelItalian travel startup Musement has revealed that they have obtained 5 million Euro in funding from P101, 360 Capital Partners, and Italian Angels for Growth. With this latest funding, the company intends to build their international team, continue to develop their platform, and to extend business development. The startup says that it intends to focus on areas such as sightseeing, food and wine, tours, and trekking and diving, aiming first to establish a strong presence throughout southern Europe and to then turn its attention towards the rest of the continent and to the Americas.

Since it launched in 2013, Musement has operated as a platform that allows users to quickly and easily book tickets for museums and other activities. The service, available on iOS and Android and in a list of languages that includes English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Russian, curates activity-focused packages for a number of cities around the globe and allows the user to quickly go to book.

Users start by selecting a city, ranging from Paris to Adelaide to Beijing, which allows them to explore different categories (nighttime tours, day trips, bus tours, castle and palace tours, biking tours, walking tours, etc.) or head straight for a particular attraction that they may want to hit while on their trip. Having selected the attraction, they are typically offered a selection of tours (“skip the line”, combinations of tours, private tours, and more). Having selected their activity, users are just a couple of clicks away from booking and they are on their way.
