Less than a month after establishing its leadership in India and Mexico via multiple acquisitions from Delivery Hero, Rocket Internet-incubated online food delivery giant foodpanda now takes over the markets in Central and Eastern Europe. Berlin-headquartered group announced today that it has acquired Donesi.com that operates in Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia & Herzegovina, Pauza.hr of Croatia and NetPincer.hu based in Hungary.
The acquisitions make the German-born company the leader in respective markets. The company says CEE is one of the most important food delivery markets for them and part of their global growth strategies.
foodpanda takes over Donesi.com operations in Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia & Herzegovina, merging the services offered by over 550 restaurants under the same brand. In neighbouring Croatia, foodpanda has acquired the online food delivery company Pauza.hr offering food delivery and take away from hundreds of restaurants. Similar to Donesi, Pauza will continue to operate under its own brand.
The acquisition of NetPincer.hu makes foodpanda the market leader in Hungary too. Founded in 1999, NetPincer partners with over 550 restaurants across the country.
In mid-November, foodpanda purchased from rival Berliner Delivery Hero the controlling stakes of TastyKhana in India and PedidosYa, SeMeAntoja and Superantojo in Mexico. The group now operates in 41 countries across five continents.
