Ligatus buys veeseo, becomes Europe’s biggest supplier of content recommendations

ligatus-veeseoPerformance marketer Ligatus announced the acquisition of  veeseo, a content recommendation generator for the publishers, and has become the biggest player in content marketing field in Europe. veeseo’s technologies will be integrated with those of Ligatus and be supplied to the latter’s client network of 1,100 publishers across Europe. But Hamburg-based veeseo will continue operating as an independent company under the roof of Ligatus.

Owned by Gruner+Jahr, one of Europe’s largest publishing groups, Ligatus specializes in developing intelligent technologies for marketers and publishers for an optimum monetization of websites. Its clients include German big shots like Spiegel Online, Die Welt Online, RTL Online.

Having worked with veeseo since 2013, Ligatus has decided to bolster its content recommendation leg of marketing technologies and decided to acquire veeseo all together. The products to be developed right after the acquisition will first be introduced in German, Austrian, Swiss, Dutch and French markets. The company says in the press release that other markets will follow shortly.

Founded in February 2010 by Jan Andresen, veeseo performs a semantic content analysis and than recommends matching content for an article or video. It also promotes a speech-to-text technology that converts video contents to readable material which, then, can be fed into the system to generate recommendations. And it does all these without the use of cookies or grabbing sensitive user data.
