UK-based job search engine Adzuna is to form a joint venture with Australian media giant Fairfax to power up its global growth. Having launched new local sites for Russia, France, Poland, the Netherlands and India, Adzuna now offers job search in 7 seven languages and plans to beef up its team across the markets.
With Adzuna’s support, Fairfax, on the other hand, aims to compete in classified employment ads sector in Australia with a stronger hand.
Launched almost two years ago by former executives at classified site Gumtree, Adzuna’s system works by indexing employment ads and boards across the web, It also provides the users with job marketer trends, like average salaries for a given expertise, vocation and location.
Adzuna members can also improve their profiles by connecting to the system via their Facebook and LinkedIn accounts, therefore, socializing with each other on employment-related issues. According to the reports, its new Adzuna Australia JV will be positioned as Fairfax’s primary online job classified channel.
Fairfax will integrate the services with some of its 200+ digital brands. Australia’s job classifieds marker is predicted to total around $320 million at the end of this year.
